These Terms of Service govern your use of heartmathsymposium.com, your registration for the HeartMath European Symposium, your purchase of tickets, and your participation in any related online or in-person sessions, workshops, certification programmes, recordings, or services.

By using this website, submitting a form, purchasing a ticket, or attending the event, you agree to these Terms.

1. About the event

The HeartMath European Symposium is a leadership, science, coherence, wellbeing, and professional development event held in Athens, Greece, with in-person and online participation options.

The event may include keynote sessions, workshops, online access, livestreams, recordings, AI subtitling or interpretation, networking, meals for selected ticket types, certification-related programmes, and other related activities.

Event details, speakers, schedules, venues, ticket types, and inclusions may change where reasonably necessary.

3. Website use

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes.

You must not:

  • Interfere with website security or functionality
  • Attempt unauthorised access to systems, forms, payment pages, or data
  • Submit false, misleading, fraudulent, or abusive information

We may restrict access to the website or event services where misuse, fraud, security risk, or breach of these Terms is suspected.

4. Tickets and registration

Ticket types, prices, and inclusions are displayed on the website or registration page.

Your registration is confirmed only when we or our registration/payment provider issue a confirmation email or receipt.

You are responsible for providing accurate registration, billing, and contact details. We are not responsible for missed communications caused by incorrect or outdated information.

Tickets may be personal, non-transferable, or subject to approval depending on the ticket type, programme, or event capacity. Any transfer request must be approved by us in writing.

5. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in euros unless stated otherwise.

Prices may include or exclude VAT depending on the offer, page, ticket type, or programme. Any applicable taxes, fees, or charges will be shown during the booking or invoicing process where required.

Payments are processed securely through third-party providers. We do not intentionally store full payment card details on our website.

We reserve the right to correct pricing errors, refuse fraudulent transactions, cancel duplicate bookings, or request additional verification where necessary.

6. Cancellation and refund policy

For symposium tickets, the following cancellation policy applies unless otherwise stated in writing:

  • Full refund: cancellations received on or before 31 August 2026
  • 50% refund: cancellations received from 1 September 2026 to 30 September 2026
  • Non-refundable: cancellations received on or after 1 October 2026

Refunds may exclude payment processing fees, bank charges, currency conversion costs, administrative charges, or third-party fees where permitted by law.

To request a cancellation, email projects@alternativemedia.gr with your full name, ticket type, booking reference, and payment details.

Certification programmes, intensive training, accommodation, travel, meals, partner services, group bookings, scholarships, or special offers may have separate cancellation and refund terms.

7. Event changes

We may change the event schedule, speakers, session titles, delivery format, platform, venue rooms, workshop allocation, interpretation/subtitling availability, or programme structure where reasonably necessary.

Reasons may include speaker availability, venue requirements, health and safety issues, technical problems, force majeure, low enrollment, operational needs, or circumstances beyond our control.

A change to individual speakers, session order, workshop allocation, or programme timing does not automatically entitle you to a refund unless required by applicable law.

8. Online access and recordings

Some ticket types may include online access, livestream access, AI subtitling, interpretation, or recordings for a limited period.

You must not share access links, login credentials, recordings, downloadable materials, or private event content with others.

Online access may depend on your internet connection, device, browser, email settings, and third-party platforms. We are not responsible for access issues caused by your equipment, connection, firewall, spam filters, or third-party platform outages.

Recordings may not include every session, workshop, speaker, Q&A, private discussion, or networking activity.

9. Workshops and limited-capacity sessions

Some workshops, certification programmes, meals, private dinners, meet-and-greet sessions, or special activities may have limited capacity.

Access may depend on ticket type, registration time, eligibility, approval, availability, or operational requirements.

We do not guarantee access to every workshop or limited-capacity activity unless expressly included in your confirmed ticket.

10. Certification programme terms

Certification programmes or intensive trainings may have additional eligibility requirements, attendance requirements, completion criteria, licensing terms, trainer requirements, materials usage rules, and certification conditions.

Payment for a certification-related programme does not guarantee certification unless all applicable requirements are met.

HeartMath-related certifications, trademarks, training materials, licences, methodologies, and programme requirements may be governed by separate terms from HeartMath or authorised certification providers.

11. Attendee conduct

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, staff, and participants are expected to behave respectfully and professionally.

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against, or disrupt other participants
  • Record private conversations without consent
  • Disrupt sessions, workshops, livestreams, or event operations
  • Misuse speaker, attendee, sponsor, or organiser information
  • Engage in unlawful, unsafe, or inappropriate behaviour
  • Promote unrelated commercial activities without permission

We may remove any person from the event without refund where conduct is unsafe, disruptive, unlawful, abusive, or in breach of these Terms.

12. Health, safety, and personal responsibility

You are responsible for assessing whether the event, workshops, techniques, exercises, travel, venue attendance, or related activities are suitable for you.

The event may include educational, wellbeing, resilience, coherence, breathing, reflection, or self-regulation practices. These are not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal, financial, or professional advice.

You should consult a qualified professional before participating in any activity if you have a medical condition, mental health concern, disability, pregnancy-related concern, or other personal circumstance that may require care or adjustment.

In an emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

13. Travel and accommodation

Unless expressly included in your ticket, travel, accommodation, visas, insurance, meals, transfers, local transport, and personal expenses are your responsibility.

We are not responsible for travel disruption, visa refusal, missed flights, accommodation issues, illness, border restrictions, or other personal travel-related costs.

We recommend arranging appropriate travel insurance.

14. Intellectual property

All website content, event materials, logos, designs, text, graphics, videos, recordings, slides, methodologies, handouts, and other materials are owned by us, HeartMath, speakers, licensors, partners, or other rights holders.

You may use event materials only for your personal, internal, or professional learning unless written permission allows otherwise.

You must not copy, reproduce, sell, publish, distribute, upload, record, stream, train AI systems on, or commercially exploit event materials without prior written permission.

HeartMath names, trademarks, methods, certifications, and related intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.

15. Photos, video, and media

The event may be photographed, filmed, streamed, or recorded.

By attending or participating, you acknowledge that you may appear incidentally in event photos, video, livestreams, or recordings. We may use such media for documentation, education, marketing, archival, and communication purposes.

Please contact us before or during the event if you have concerns about being photographed or filmed.

16. Third-party services and links

The website and event may use or link to third-party services, including registration forms, payment processors, streaming platforms, maps, hotels, venues, email tools, analytics tools, social media platforms, or partner websites.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, policies, security, pricing, or performance of third-party services.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

17. Scholarships, discounts, and special offers

Scholarships, group discounts, educational discounts, non-profit discounts, student discounts, and special offers are discretionary and may require application, approval, evidence of eligibility, or separate terms.

Submitting a request does not guarantee approval.

We may accept, decline, modify, or withdraw special offers where necessary, subject to applicable law.

18. Disclaimer

The website, event, sessions, workshops, recordings, materials, and communications are provided for educational and informational purposes.

We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate information, but we do not guarantee that all content will be complete, current, error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every participant.

Speaker views are their own and do not necessarily represent our views.

No event content should be treated as medical, psychological, legal, tax, financial, investment, or professional advice.

19. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or economic losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, loss of opportunity, travel costs, accommodation costs, or personal expenses.

Our total liability for claims related to your ticket, registration, website use, or event participation will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the relevant ticket or service, unless a higher amount is required by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

20. Force majeure

We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, strikes, war, terrorism, civil unrest, epidemic or pandemic restrictions, government action, venue closure, speaker emergency, transport disruption, internet failure, platform outage, power failure, or other force majeure events.

Where reasonably possible, we may offer an alternative date, venue, online format, recording access, credit, or other remedy, depending on the circumstances and applicable law.

21. Privacy

Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the website, registering, or attending the event, you acknowledge that your personal data will be processed as described there.

22. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.

Any dispute will be subject to the courts of Greece, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.

Terms applicable at the time of your confirmed purchase will generally apply to that purchase, unless changes are required by law or are necessary for safety, security, or event operation.

Lynne McTaggart of London, England, is an award-winning journalist and author of the international bestsellers Living The Field and The Intention Experiment, a series of scientifically controlled, web-based experiments testing the power of intention to change the physical world. McTaggart is an authority on the science of spirituality and gives conferences and workshops on spirituality and health, including the Intention Workshops, which she says teach "the real truth of intention and how to harness its enormous power to heal your life – and to heal the world." She and husband/publisher Bryan Hubbard, also a journalist, are directors of What Doctors Don't Tell You Ltd, which publishes the internationally acclaimed magazine What Doctors Don't Tell You, that gives scientific critiques of mainstream medicine and reviews health problems, providing what they call "safer, proven ways of treating them".

Rollin McCraty, Ph.D. of Boulder Creek, California, is one of the primary creators of the Global Coherence Initiative (GCI) and director of research for GCI and HeartMath Institute. He is project coordinator and the principle designer of GCI’s scientific component, the Global Coherence Monitoring System and its international network of magnetic field sensor sites. A professor at Florida Atlantic University, McCraty heads up HMI and GCI researchers investigating the relationship between human and geomagnetic field environments and the interconnectedness of and communication among all living things. They are studying how these fields act as central synchronizing signals within the body, carry emotional information and serve as key mediators of energetic interactions between people and living systems. McCraty holds numerous memberships, including with the American Autonomic Society, Pavlovian Society, National Association for Psychological Science, Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback and Society for Scientific Exploration. He has written scientific articles for many professional journals, given interviews for feature articles and television segments and appeared in numerous documentary films.

Deborah Rozman of Boulder Creek, California, is President and CEO of HeartMath Inc, an a behavioral psychologist with over 30 years of experience as a business executive, educator, author, and researcher in the psychology of consciousness. Rozman has written numerous books, including the award-winning Meditating With Children and co-authoring with HeartMath founder Doc Childre the Transforming Series – Transforming Anger, Transforming Stress, Transforming Anxiety and Transforming Depression. HeartMath Inc develops and manufactures the Inner Balance and emWave heart-rhythm coherence feedback technologies and the new HeartMath app. Deborah serves on the HeartMath Institute's Scientific Advisory Board and is a key spokesperson for the HeartMath System, giving interviews and keynote addresses around the world.

Howard Martin brings more than thirty years of experience in business and personal development to the position of Executive Vice President, Strategic Development. Howard’s responsibilities include global alliances, marketing, and program and product development. Howard has been instrumental in assisting Doc Childre in the development and teaching of HeartMath’s programs since its inception. He speaks internationally on the HeartMath approach to advancing human performance that is based on compelling scientific research linking heart function with health, emotional well-being and intelligence. Howard is co-author with Doc Childre of The HeartMath Solution, published in 2000 by Harper San Francisco.
