Biography
An award-winning marketing executive who has spent 35 years turning early-stage companies — from eHarmony to LegalZoom to TrueCar — into category-defining brands.
Lucas Donat is an award-winning marketing executive and brand builder with over 35 years transforming early-stage companies into industry icons. In 1987 he co-founded Donat/Wald Advertising in Santa Monica with his partner Traci Wald Donat, leading brand and creative strategy for pioneering internet companies including eHarmony, LegalZoom, Hotwire, Ancestry, and TrueCar.
In 2014 the agency rebranded as Tiny Rebellion and was named Advertising Age‘s Small Agency of the Year (under 75 employees). That same year Lucas helped take TrueCar public, later serving as its CMO and Chief Brand Officer. He subsequently served as CMO at Autonomy, and is currently CMO at Constellation, an AI-driven SaaS company in the automotive space.
A member of the Director’s Guild of America, Lucas has written and directed many of his clients’ campaigns. He was born in Toronto to actors Michael Learned (The Waltons) and Peter Donat, and is the great-nephew of actor Robert Donat.
At the HeartMath European Symposium 3.0, Lucas will explore what 35 years of building disruptive brands has taught him about authenticity, purpose, and the future of creativity in an AI-shaped world.
